Coaching philosophy:

My coaching philosophy stems from a deeply held, positive view of life and entrepreneurship. I believe that each founder and creator is equipped with a unique internal compass to make their way in the world.

In other words, the saying is true: everything you need is already inside of you. We spend our lives turning away from the force of such clichés— and turning ourselves into pretzels in the process.

But this worldview actually takes the pressure off. All that Life is asking of us— truly— is to show up as our authentic selves. Then we get to sit back and watch magic unfold.

This revelation is the world’s best-kept secret, hiding in plain sight. Life wants us to succeed. Let me say that again for the people in the back: LIFE WANTS US TO SUCCEED. We were made— exactly as we are— to move through Life, and Life was made to move through us. Life is ready to embrace us and our ventures when we are brave enough to embrace ourselves.

When I say this, I don’t mean that all success is deserved, nor all misfortune warranted. Instead, I mean that our outer circumstances transform as a result of our inner environments.

I know this idea might sound outlandish, but don’t take my word for it. You can see how this phenomenon might be true from a practical perspective:

… You see where I’m going with this, right? It doesn’t require a stretch of your imagination nor a suspension of disbelief to see how Life applauds those who know themselves and express those Selves. A true “Life Cycle” is a virtuous one.

So, this is STEP 1: live Life as YOU. Why waste time being anyone or anything else? Aren’t you curious how the world might look with the imprint of your deepest essence?

Like all first steps, this step is simple, but not necessarily easy. Entire systems (economic systems, political systems, religious systems, cultural systems, familial systems) have profited by telling us that we are too much, not enough, unworthy, or inherently wrong.

As a result, you have to learn to exercise your own alignment like a muscle; one that grows over time. You learn to listen to who you are, what you want, and how to bring your purest vision and values to life in your organization.

When you acknowledge and express your core being— no matter what adversity you may face— you experience the difference between challenge and difficulty. Life will always contain elements of challenge. In fact, that’s what makes life so rich.

… Think about how you feel at the end of a killer workout, or after crushing a presentation you rehearsed for weeks, or in a moment of increased intimacy after a tough conversation with a loved one. These experiences are so rewarding because they represent encounters with, and transcendence of, challenge. My clients do not shy away from challenges. Instead, they embrace what challenge can teach them.

In this respect, my clients are not a part of the status quo. For most people, life is riddled not with rich challenge, but with difficulty— the kind of soul-crushing, mind-numbing difficulty that feels backward rather than beneficial.

I know plenty of people who achieved their success by tuning out their inner compass and turning up the strategy. But take a peek under the hood and you’ll often find that these people’s lives are jam-packed with difficulty. Their apparent success has come at a steep cost: emotional, psychological, energetic, or ethical.
